Its been a while since I enjoyed so much a fiction book. This is a 4 books series, and though you may find it hard to dive into the story, once you do, it will be difficult to let go. It is written in a raw and honest way, with no excuses and no pretending. Although there is a plot around a neighborhood, families and many characters, the reason why I found this series appealing was the layers of emotions, the endless search of the two heroes to understand the real motives of the other while we, the readers, get exposed to their deepest thoughts, love, hate, jealousy, betrayal, and friendship. Considering the time when it took place, it is also about feminism, the power of will and the power of women to control their lives, at least to a certain extent.
