Title: MAXXI Museum | Rome, Italy

User's Notes:
An intriguing visit to this modern museum. The architecture of the building is very interesting, but what made this visit worthwhile was the work of the Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce. His work is colorful, using interesting materials and most importantly, conveying meaningful ideas and observations. His iconic armchair in the form of a woman, presented outside in a giant version, allows no visitor to stay indifferent to its notion of protest and warning with regard to the female condition around the world. Decidedly a must-see for modern art׳s fans.

The MAXXI design goes beyond the concept of the building-museum. The complexity of the volumes, the curving walls, the variations and intersections of the levels determine a very rich spatial and functional configuration that visitors may pass through via ever different and unexpected routes. Multiple environments coexist in a sequence of galleries illuminated with natural light filtered via a special roof system.
