Cedarwood is a pyramid-shaped majestic evergreen tree, which grows up to 131 ft. high. The wood itself is hard and strongly aromatic because of the high percentage of essential oil it contains, and the essential oil is obtained by steam distillation. The oil has been used for bronchial and urinary tract infections. Cedarwood also has a long history as an incense and perfume. The wood was burned by the Greeks and Romans to fragrant the air.<br /> Cedarwood Oil is used by aromatherapists to assist with acne, arthritis, bronchitis, coughing, cystitis, dandruff, dermatitis, and stress.<br /> In an aromatherapy diffuser, Cedarwood oil can be used for arthritis, bronchitis, rheumatism, respiratory problems, as a general tonic and as an insect repellent. Cedarwood has also known to be effective in reducing the symptoms of ADHD and ADD in children.
